How Do I Know if My Tree Might Need Removal?
You might have a tree that you may suspect needs removal, but you are not 100% sure. Here are a few things that you can look for. These are signs that the may need to be cut down and removed:
1) The tree is leaning. This is often an indication of a root system that has become compromised. If this leaning happened all of a sudden, then it is almost certain that there is rot or decay of some kind in the roots. In this case, it really should be cut down and removed, especially if it is close to your house or other property.
2) The roots around the tree look damaged. It is very common for lawnmowers or other operating equipment to do damage to roots around the tree. When this happens, it can stress the tree, creating several issues. If the roots have become damaged, then the tree might just need some loving care to keep it healthy. This could include things like mulching or providing nutrients, or even cabling. But in some cases, the tree cannot be brought back to health. In that instance, the best thing is to remove it.
3) There are dead limbs in the tree. Dead branches in a tree could be a result of the tree not being able to breathe properly, because of overcrowding towards the top. Thinning could be a solution to bring the tree back to health. However, lots of dead limbs could also be a symptom of disease in the roots. If you’re not sure what you’re looking at, that’s ok! We’d be happy to come out and look, free of charge.
4) The outside of the tree is cracking or breaking off (parts of the trunk or the bark). This could definitely be an indication that there is disease or decay in the roots. If this is the case, you may want to consider our tree removal services. We always would prefer to nurse it back to health, but sometimes trees will need to be cut down and removed.
